Summit County is recruiting an Appraiser to be actively engaged with our community by providing professional appraisals on land, residential and commercial property. This position requires all levels of data collection, entry and most importantly analysis. Experience in sales collection, verification and ratio study weighted. Experience with land segregations and land guidelines given preference. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are imperative. Experience in the Board of Equalization process both at the county and state levels weighted. Able to read building plans and draw in APEX preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: Valid driver’s license, bachelor’s degree, and already have or must become a designated ad valorem residential property appraiser by the Utah State Tax Commission within twelve months of hire. May hire at the following levels depending on submitted qualifications and experience.

Appraiser Trainee

Appraiser I
two years of progressively responsible experience performing above or related duties and an active appraiser license with the Utah Division of Real Estate.

Appraiser II four years of experience as an appraiser and an active Certified Residential appraiser license with the Utah Division of Real Estate.

Appraiser III six years of experience as an appraiser and an active Certified General appraiser license with the Utah Division of Real Estate.


Salary Range:

- Appraiser Trainee: $17.67 - $24.75/hr
- Appraiser I: $21.04 - $29.48/hr
- Appraiser II: $22.30 - $31.24/hr
- Appraiser III: $25.06 - $35.10/hr
