Summit County is currently recruiting for a full time Deputy Sheriff I. Performs entry-level law enforcement duties intended to secure a safe environment for county citizens and to protect legal rights as established by federal, state, and local laws.
Deputy I - High School graduation and successful completion of (P.O.S.T.) Peace Officers Standards and Training Academy and LEO certifiable with six (6) months of hire date and certifiable as a Peace Officer within the State of Utah or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
May be filled by Deputy II. Three years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience.
May be filled by Deputy III. Six (6) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience.
Special Qualifications: Must be a United States Citizen, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Utah State Driver's License and must be P.O.S.T. certified within 6 months of hire date.
- Deputy I : $19.86 to $27.81 per hour
- Deputy II : $22.30 to $31.24 per hour
- Deputy III : $25.06 to $35.10 per hour
Applicants must submit a Summit County Application and a copy of P.O.S.T. certificate if certified and/or a copy of P.O.S.T. pre-entrance exam scores of not certified.
