Equipment Operator

Description


Summit County is recruiting an Equipment Operator who will perform skilled tasks in the operation and maintenance of light to heavy duty equipment as needed to construct, maintain, or repair county roads and service systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Equipment Operator I: High school graduate or equivalent and one year of experience in operation and maintenance of light to heavy duty equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Class B Utah Commercial Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Class A Utah Commercial Driver’s License within six months of hire. Preference given to those who already possess a Class A Utah Commercial Driver’s License.

Equipment Operator II: High school graduate or equivalent and five years of experience in operation and maintenance of medium to heavy duty equipment, or and equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess or be able to acquire a valid Class A Utah Commercial Driver’s License.

Equipment Operator III: High school graduate or equivalent and ten years with a Public Works Department as an Operator I & II and successful completion of an advancement exam, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Class A Utah Commercial Driver’s License.

Salary Range:


  • Equipment Operator I: $19.11 – $26.75/hr.  
  • Equipment Operator II: $20.26 – $28.37/hr.
  • Equipment Operator III: $21.46 - $30.07/hr.
