Tax Sale Frequency

Any property not redeemed by March 15 following the lapse of four years from the date when the property became delinquent, will be included in the annual real property Tax Sale held in May or June.

Property List

The list of delinquent properties will be available online beginning four weeks preceding the Sale. The list will be periodically updated up to the day of the sale

Newspaper Publication

The Tax Sale is advertised in the Park Record four times, once in each of the four successive weeks immediately preceding the date of the Tax Sale.

The 2023 Summit County Tax Sale will be held online.

Unsold Properties

Any property unsold at the Tax Sale which is not in the public interest to be recertified to a subsequent sale shall become county property.

Properties Sold for More Than Amount Due

Any sale funds in excess of the total amount of delinquent taxes, penalties, interest and administrative fees will be treated as Unclaimed Property under Title 67 of the Utah Code Annotated and forwarded to the Utah State Treasurer after one year has elapsed from the date of the tax sale.
